Diana Rigg-The Avengers
Dame Enid Diana Rigg was the popular and beautiful Emma Peel on the 60s TV show The Avengers. After her time on the show she moved on to work in the theatre. Through the years she has had big screen roles and appearances or other roles on different shows, but she is likely best know as the Bond girl in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Today, Dame Riggs is likely best know to a whole new generation as the character Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones on HBO. She also stars alongside her daughter, Rachel Stirling, in the show Detectorists. While her personal life is not news worthy like many others on this list, she has had a career that has spanned over 50 years with memorable roles in each decade. Truly deserving of the Dame title.
