11. Compost All Year

www.treehugger.com

It’s easier to compost in the warmer months of spring and summer but it’s important for your soil to stay healthy all year. Instead of buying vitamins and things to keep your soil healthy, use your own fruit and vegetables to make your own compost. It’s cheaper and pretty convenient so there’s no excuse for not doing it! If you can’t use your compost fast enough, freeze it to stop the stink, and if you live in a cold area just stick it outside. Make sure to use newspaper, old leaves, and/or straw for the base and add the greens.
