16. Absentee Mothers
In many Disney animated films, the mother dies early on in the story. Bambi is one of the most notable examples and the theory behind this is the fact that he felt responsible for his own mother’s death. Once Snow White skyrocketed Disney’s success he purchased a new home for his folks. While the intentions were beautiful, a broken heating system lead to his mother’s death due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Now all the tragedy in Disney movies makes a bit more sense.
