Early Life To understand John’s life now, we have to go back to his early life. He was born on February 18, 1954 to an Italian-American family in Englewood, New Jersey. He is one of 6 and was raised Catholic. His view on life and religion changed in 1975when he was introduced to Scientology. School Boy John As a boy, John never excelled in school. He would charm his teachers into passing him in class and “tried to communicate with them on a more adult level.” As he became a teenager, most of his attention was spent on acting than schoolwork.
