Don’t Use Cheese to Capture Mice

We all think that mice love cheese. This isn’t true. Rather than baiting a house with cheese, try using peanut butter and save the cheese for yourself.

Citronella

Citronella is actually a natural oil and repels mosquitos. You can buy citronella candles or oils and keep them near you while you’re enjoying a warm summer night to keep gnats and mosquitos away.

Bay leaves are a natural repellent to cockroaches. They can’t stand the smell of them. So, if you have roaches, keep some bay leaves in an open container.

Mice hate strong smells. So, eucalyptus oil is perfect for keeping rodents away. Use an oil diffuser to fill your home with its scent.

Mashed Potatoes

Kill mice without making a mess with mashed potato flakes. When the mice eat the flakes, they will expand in their stomachs and kill them. You will still have to clean up their bodies though.

Mosquitos and gnats hate the smell of cinnamon. So, use some cinnamon oil or cinnamon scented lotion to keep them away from your skin.

This old wives’ tale rings true. Rubbing a dryer sheet on your skin will repel mosquitos.

Cat Litter

Place cedar chips in your drawers to repel roaches, ants, beetles, and moths. You can also put them around your home.

Steel Wool

Cloves

Borax offers a quick and easy solution to an ant infestation. Mix 1.5 cups of warm water, 1.5 tablespoons of Borax, and 0.5 cups of sugar in a bowl. Soak cotton balls with the mixture and place them around the house where you have seen ants. It will kill them instantly.

Citrus Peels

Gnats and mosquitos stay away from citrus peels due to their smell. To keep them from biting you, rub an orange peel on your skin.
