Wealthy passengers Lady Duff Gordon and her husband have been said to bribe the crewmembers to let their lifeboat go with only 12 passengers on board. However, after an investigation the couple was cleared and found of no wrongdoing. They weren’t the only first-class passengers to try and bribe the crewmembers that night.
