12. Nazi Germany
Nazi Germany was arguably one of the most violent and murderous Empires to ever exist. Under Hitler’s reign Germany was a fascist state and all power was given to Hitler himself. During the Great Depression Hitler restored economic stability for Germany using his heavy military spending and construction of the Autobahn, which unfortunately boost his popularity. Nazi Germany will always be remembered for the extreme racist features that were central to the regime and the devastation that took place during the Holocaust. Germany set off WWII in Europe when they invaded Poland in 1941, and invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, but experienced massive military defeat in 1943. The War ended in 1945 when the Allied Powers defeated Hitler in 1945.
