Lynda Carter-Wonder Woman

Via Express

A poster on many a young boys wall in the 70s, Lynda Carter is a bit of a cheat on this list. While most of her career saw its popularity through the decade following the 60s she started her career in 1968. It was in the late 1970s that she was cast as Wonder Woman for the shows three seasons.

Not much is known about her career in the 60s, other than the fact that she was a working actress trying to land roles. She has stayed popular throughout her career based on those three seasons of her most popular role.

Later in life she made appearances at shows and ceremonies but is more well known for her activism. In 2003, she revealed that her mother suffered from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) for 30 years and toured the country as a spokeswoman and advocate. She is also a well-known supporter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. In addition, she works on Pro-Choice rights for women and legal rights for the LGBT community. In 2011 she was the Grand Marshal of the Phoenix and New York Pride Parades as well as another showing in 2013 in the Washington, DC based Capital Pride Parade.

In 2008 she admitted in an interview with People that she had entered a rehab clinic for alcoholism and had been sober for 10 years. When asked what she learned from her recovery she simply answered the the best measure of a human being is “how we treat the people who love us, and the people that we love.” Technically she fits this list, but she seems fair to cheat in, right?
