Terrified Orphaned Monkey Left Alone With Cat Does The UnexpectedTedEntertainment0 Comments 0 Thanks to the dedication and love of animal sanctuaries, animals of all species can live safely and comfortably. That’s exactly what happened to an orphaned monkey, Horace, that was taken in by Zimbabwe’s Twala Trust Animal Sanctuary. Horace is a vervet monkey. He was very young and small when he was brought to the Twala Trust Animal Sanctuary. His mother was killed by a car and was too young to survive in the wild on his own. 2 At first, Horace was very shy and timid when he first came to the sanctuary. He was nervous and scared after losing his mother. 3 Not long after his arrival, he made some unlikely friends. Two little kittens decided to look after the little monkey. 4 He soon warmed up to everyone in the sanctuary, including the people. He would let them hold him and he would fall asleep in their hands. 5 In the sanctuary, Horace was around other orphaned animals who wouldn’t have survived on their own in the wild. The sanctuary gave these animals a second chance at life. 6 Since the sanctuary lacked enough staff to raise each species separately, there are many pictures of difference animals getting along. Just look at Horace and his deer. 7 Horace loved being around different animals, especially his cat friends. One of his favorite pastimes was snuggling. 8 Horace grew into a strong and healthy monkey thanks to the care of the sanctuary. He is also much more comfortable around people and animals than when he first arrived. 9 Horace turned out to be an extremely confident and social monkey, as he grew older. He loves to hang out with his animal friends in the sanctuary. 10 Horace and his cat and dog friends like to hang out by the pool when the weather is nice. They enjoy the beautiful setting they’ve been raised in. 11 Horace tires himself out from playing with his friends sometimes. That’s when his canine companions give him a ride. 12 While his dog friends are great for transportation, his feline friends make the best nap buddies. 13 Sarah Carter, the founder of Twala Trust Animal Sanctuary said, “He runs around in the middle of the night, in the dark, with the cats.” It’s amazing to see different species get along so well. 14 Sarah also said, “All the other monkeys go to sleep when it starts to get dark, because that’s their instinct. Meanwhile, Horace is busy running around the garden at 10 o’clock at night. He’s a character.” 15 Horace is quite the welcome wagon when it comes to new animals arriving at the sanctuary. He makes them feel right at home. 16 The staff is always amazed to see how Horace bonds with the other monkeys in the sanctuary. He gets along with them so well! 17 Horace seems to be happiest when he makes friends with other animals. He definitely is the most social animal around. He never would have had the chance to live such a happy and playful life if it weren’t for the Twala Sanctuary. 18 Horace’s story truly is beautiful!
