3. Tales Of Valour
The most authentic work on the Underground Railroad has been written by William Still who had helped some 800 slaves to escape. His book was published in 1872 titled The Underground Railroad: Authentic Narratives and First-Hand Accounts. Among the white people who helped the cause was John Farfield who even went undercover to gain the trust of plantation communities. He had helped 28 slaves escape from a funeral procession – a feat that is still considered as a stellar act of bravery from that time. And now this house was bringing to light these fascinating tales from the past.
