15. Salt it Off
Ever look at the bottom of your iron? Well, you should. Is it lumpy? Fibers from fabric stick onto the surface of the iron over time, so this stuff is actually just fabric. However, it could be ruining your clothes every time you use your iron without cleaning your iron. To get all that weird gunk off the bottom, simply plug it in, get it warm and iron a bunch of salt. Yep, regular table salt will do. Keep ironing and checking until it looks clear. When you’re finished, let the iron cool and wipe it off with a clean cloth.
