Laughing Death, known as Kuru, is characterized by sudden bursts of maniacal laughter. Patients are observed with shaking limbs, that can eventually be subsided with rest. Still, a month to three later sufferers begin to sway and stumble, lose the ability to stand, lose the power of coherent speech before ultimately facing their own death.
