23. Ancient Animal Traps
Across the deserts of Israel, Egypt, and Jordan are low crisscrossing walls that have confused archaeologists since their discovery. Built over the course of forty miles, it was determined that the walls were used to draw animals in where they would fall into unmarked pits for a mass killing. Miscellaneous bones and tools have been found in the area, which is the most conclusive evidence for the walls’ purpose.
